I'm not sure I get the wisdom of this approach: I was looking to update the photo on my Citicard (it's a circa 1991 shot of me and - 19 years on - is looking a bit dated). I searched the Citicard website looking for info on how I could upload the photo I'd selected. No such feature exists. So, I sent an e-mail to customer service asking: "How can I do this?"
Silence. Or, so I thought. Then yesterday in the mail comes this doozy accompanied by a form letter - "Thank you for your inquiry about Citi Photocard..."
Let me get this straight: all I have to do to 'prevent unauthorized use of [my] card' is to provide you with my full name, Social Security Number and account number...
...and then stick it into the ultra-secure US Postal system, which - if I follow the mailer's directions ("Detach Photocard Request Form, complete, seal and return postage-free!") - leaves me with this image as the exposed backside...
...which just SCREAMS OUT what someone is to find inside.
I know the intentions are good here. But this entire process feels like it's in direct contradiction to the stated goal of preventing unauthorized usage.
